Capability Building
Designed for your context.
Your people. Your practice.
Every program IECA designs begins with your context and ends with your team stronger, more confident, and more capable.

Our
Philosophy
At IECA, we believe the most powerful professional learning happens when it is built around the people doing the work. We start by listening to your challenges, your goals, and the realities of your school or organisation. From there, we design and deliver a program that is tailored, evidence-based, and focused on building capability that stays.
How we work
Every IECA capability building program follows a three-stage model:

Stage 1 — Discovery
We begin with a conversation.
Before any program is designed, we take the time to understand your context, your team, and your improvement priorities. This shapes every element of what follows.

Stage 2 — Professional Learning
A full-day, bespoke workshop delivered to your team.
Designed specifically around what we learned together in Stage 1. The content, the examples, and the focus are all drawn from your context and your goals.

Stage 3 — Implementation Support
A series of online workshops.
Your team works through the phases of putting new practice into action. We troubleshoot challenges, monitor progress, and build the confidence and skills your team needs to sustain change long after our work together is done.

Assessment Design
Effective Assessment Design | Leading Effective Assessment Design
Accredited by the Teacher Quality Institute (TQI), ACT

Assessment design is a skill. This program builds it
specifically for judgement-based tasks like projects, performances, and portfolios.

This TQI-accredited program develops assessment design capability across your school, from classroom teachers to curriculum leaders, through a full-day professional learning workshop and a series of follow-up workshops for leaders.
Rubric Design
Well designed rubrics support consistent, fair evaluation and meaningful feedback. This program builds the capability to design rubrics that assess what they are designed to assess, across your school or organisation.
Starting with a clear definition of the knowledge and skills being assessed, the program works through the principles of effective rubric design and their application in practice.

Leading Data Inquiry
Schools that use data well make better decisions about learning and teaching. This program builds that capability in your leadership team.

Working with a core group of up to 12 data champions over six months, your team will develop the knowledge, skills, and strategies to lead a structured inquiry cycle, identifying areas for inquiry, gathering targeted data, analysing evidence, and implementing and monitoring change.
